Pessimism causes unnecessary stress, which is bad for your health. Pessimism also makes you less fun to hang out with, so it puts a strain on your close relationships (and strained relationships also cause stress, which is bad for your health). And finally, pessimism makes you less persistent, which means it's harder for you to learn new skills and you're less likely to accomplish your goals, so you will experience less success in your life.

And to top it all off, pessimism is voluntary. You actually have a choice in the matter. You may once have been unaware that you had a choice, but you can no longer plead ignorance.

This means that to whatever degree you are choosing pessimism, to that degree you are committing a crime against yourself. You harm yourself with your own pessimism. Allowing yourself to think pessimistically, then, is a lack of integrity.

Let me say that again. Allowing yourself to be pessimistic is ethically and morally wrong. It lacks integrity to allow it to remain in your mind.

You may never have thought of this before. But now that you read it, I feel fairly certain you can see the plain legitimacy of the assertion.

You don't want to live without integrity. That's no way to live at all. So begin today to restore your integrity by cleaning the pessimism out of your mind. Begin here: Crush pessimism.

You are likely to regret many things you do because of pessimism, but you will never regret restoring your integrity. You will begin benefiting from it immediately and it will reward you for the rest of your life.
